October 7.30pm St Mary's Church VOSKRESENIYE Juriy Maruk conductor The Russian ensemble 'Voskreseniye', which means 'Resurrection', are based in St Petersburg and perform regularly in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France and Great Britain, This choir of nine professional singers capture their audiences with the austere beauty of Orthodox sacred music and the freshness and fun of Russian folk songs. |

December 7.30pm Linton Village College PRIME BRASS Following the success of their last visit to Linton (and the capacity audience they attracted, book early to avoid disappointment), Prime Brass provide another varied programme including some seasonal fare played in their own inimitable style. As well as some of the lighter repertoire for which they are renowned, at the heart of their programme is the Sinfonietta by Howard Blake, best known for his music for 'The Snowman' and here revealed as a composer of real grandeur. February 7.30pm Linton Village College BOBBY CHEN piano Winner of the Overseas Prize at the Royal Overseas League Competition and fresh from giving the world premiere of a new piano concerto, Bobby Chen has recently made his US debut and appeared in festivals in Sweden and Malaysia. His delightfully varied and virtuosic programme features Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue and Visions Fugitives by Prokofiev as well as music by Debussy, Schubert, and finishing the concert with Chopin's Ballade No.1 in G minor. |

March 7.30pm Linton Village College DEWI ELLIS JONES percussion CLAIRE JONES harp Combining two of Wales's brightest young talents, this performance promises to be an unforgettable experience. The new Royal Harpist, Claire Jones performs with a percussionist of outstanding ability, Dewi Ellis, who produces an amazing array of sounds, ranging from the emotional to the electrifying. The evening will include performances of The Santa Fe Suite by William Mathias, Sonata in C Major 2nd movement by CPE Bach and Banjo & Fiddle by William Krool. |

This entertaining programme includes Mozart's Sonata in C major KV521, Schubert's Fantasie in F minor D940 and Debussy's La Mer. June 7.30pm St Mary's Church NAVARRA QUARTET Xander van Vliet violin Marije Ploernacher violin Sir-none van der Giessen viola Nathaniel Boyd cello Haydn String Quartet in E Op.17 No.1 Schumann String Quartet in A minor, Op.41 No.1 Schubert String Quartet No.13 in A minor, D804 'Rosamunde' The Navarra Quartet is fast emerging as one of the outstanding quartets of its generation, winning 2nd Prize in the 2007 Melbourne and 1st Prize in the 2005 Florence International Chamber Music Competitions. In this final concert of the season they present favourites of the quartet repertoire which will surely make a rousing finish! |
